But it turns out that if you enable multiple language support, Win10 will neatly show you the current keyboard configuration on the TaskBar with a small abbreviation.

You really made me work for this one because it took a while to figure out what you meant by “ENG” showing up on your TaskBar on your Windows 10 system.
